JAM Video

Video Description

Recognized for my expertise and proficiency, I was entrusted with the task of creating a promotional video for the Jenzabar Annual Meeting (JAM) to showcase the essence of the Jenzabar Academy. Leveraging my knowledge and skill, I integrated background audio, video, and motion graphics to fulfill the mandate of introducing and defining the Academy's identity.

Creation & Breakdown

Video:

Handpicked video clips were meticulously curated and tailored to fit the narrative using Adobe Premiere and After Effects, ensuring each frame conveyed our message with impact and resonance.

Motion Graphics:

Leveraging the powerful tools of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I meticulously crafted bespoke design elements, bringing the narrative to life with intricate animations and transitions. The inclusion of characters from VYOND added a layer of familiarity and consistency, albeit with its unique challenges, which were overcome through meticulous frame-by-frame reanimation.

Audio:

Within the auditory realm, Adobe Audition proved invaluable, allowing for precise adjustments to balance levels and customize the musical score to complement the visuals seamlessly.

Storyboard:

The project's blueprint took shape within the confines of Microsoft Word, outlining every scene, transition, and narrative beat for the video. This made it easy to share with department heads, who provided valuable notes and suggestions to refine the key elements included in the final product.

Tools & Software

Behind The Scenes

Utilizing VYOND characters presented a distinctive challenge in this project. While VYOND boasts a vast library of pre-animated assets suitable for straightforward single-movement animations, the need for seamless transitions between pre-animated poses posed a significant obstacle.

Green Screen Process

Initially, the process entailed handpicking suitable animations for each character within VYOND and integrating a green screen background. This step facilitated the extraction of animations onto a transparent background using Adobe After Effects. The transparent background enabled seamless integration of the Jenzabar interface behind the VYOND characters, creating a cohesive visual narrative where the characters appear to interact with the software through gestures and pointing.

Transitioning Between Poses

However, the next hurdle emerged during the transition between pre-animated poses. To address this, I adopted a multi-step approach. Firstly, I extracted the character videos with the newly transparent background and imported them into Adobe Illustrator. There, I meticulously reconstructed their limbs to enable further animation adjustments in After Effects in the hopes of creating an animation rig.

Animating The Characters

Despite my initial efforts, the animation created using Adobe After Effects was smoother than VYOND's default animations. To match VYOND's style, I switched to frame-by-frame animation. This involved manually adjusting each frame to ensure the timing and movement aligned with VYOND's animations, resulting in a seamless integration with the rest of the video.

The Final Result

Through persistence and innovation, I successfully resolved these challenges, ensuring that the final animation flawlessly melded with the overall video narrative.
